Frequently Asked Questions

What is DTF?

DTF stands for Direct To Film, a printing method where designs are printed onto a special film and then transferred onto fabric using heat. This process produces vibrant, durable prints with great detail and flexibility. DTF is ideal for custom apparel because it works well on various fabric types and offers excellent washability.

Do you offer help with file setup or design?

I’m happy to help with basic questions or minor adjustments, but the Gang Sheet Builder is designed to make file setup easy and user-friendly. It allows you to upload, arrange, and size your designs exactly how you want them printed. If you need more in-depth design work or custom file creation, feel free to reach out and I will do my best to assist you!

Do you offer rush or same-day services?

Yes! Email and text to place a rush order. A rush fee will apply.

What file types do you accept for gang sheets?

We recommend a 300 dpi PNG file with transparent background for best print quality.

What press instructions do I use for your DTF prints?

Must have FIRM pressure with a Heat Press - not easy presses or irons

Heat Press to 280-300° (check your press with a heat gun to check if your press runs hot or cold - pressing DTF transfers too hot WILL ruin the adhesive and your transfers will not stick)

We recommend 3 presses:

  • 1st press - 5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles
  • 2nd press - Lay transfer on fabric and press 10 seconds (no cover sheet needed) *Hot Peel Film - test a corner gently to ensure the film will peel easily.
  • 3rd press - Cover with a Spare Cotton Tee (matte finish) or Teflon (shiny finish). Other options include Parchment paper, t-seal finishing sheets, Stahl's flexible silicon application pad, or 80 grit sandpaper. (A spare cotton tee is our preferred and most recommended)

Care Instructions:

To help your custom apparel last as long as possible, please follow these care guidelines after pressing your DTF transfers:

Washing

  • Turn the garment inside out before washing.
  • Machine wash cold with mild detergent.
  • Use gentle cycle — no bleach or fabric softeners.
  • Do not dry clean.

Drying

  • Hang dry for best results.
  • If using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat only.
  • High heat may damage the transfer over time.

Ironing

  • Do not iron directly on the transfer.
  • If ironing is needed, place parchment paper or a pressing cloth over the design.

Important Tips

  • Allow 24 hours after pressing before the first wash.
  • Wash similar items together to avoid excessive friction.
  • Proper care = longer-lasting, vibrant designs!
